Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thy heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I babysat Jenna's kids for the afternoon :) I made the mistake of turning around... :)

The best passport picture ever :) Love him! :)

The first day of our World Cultures unit. We learned how to fill out a form in English.

The inside of Nere's passport. They had to show me their photo identification before they could cross the "border" into my classroom :)
Each layer of the hamburger is a sentence in their summary.

My new behavior system. Each student begins the week with five cookies. I take cookies away if they break a rule and I give them back if they do something spectacular :) On Friday, I draw a number between one and five and if they have that number or more, they recieve a special prize.
This week's vocab list. My classroom sounds like a zoo :)
My latest art project :)
Fall mural with Osmara, Jorge, and Keyla :)

Pau was gracious enough to allow me to borrow her globe.

Summer Fun!

After my three month hiatus, I thought I would finally update my blog. :) If you were wondering, our chicken is no longer with us. On that fateful morning, Karla went out to our beloved chicken's cage only to find a pile of feathers scattered throughout the back yard... I'll let your imagination do the rest.
It's been an activity filled summer. Our school year goes through the end of June so that leaves about a month and a half of summer break. We have summer school during the month of July which consists of classes like English, art, remedial math and reading, and Hungarian. We have some awesome people from Hungary that are living at CVE! We are now a trilingual campus. I'm currently working on my Hungarian. I've worked really hard to learn all three of the words that I know... :) It turns out that Spanish is WAY easier than Hungarian! I was home for two weeks at the end of July and was thankful to be with family and friends! I also babysat Jodi Beer's three little ones (Jorge, Osi, and Keyla) for two weeks this summer.
Since arriving back in Mexico, I have been working to prepare my classroom for the first day of SCHOOL! :) I am incredibly excited to get back in the classroom! Enjoy the pictures!

Yes. That is a toilet paper roll :) Thank you Adam Leman!

All stations go! :)

My new arrangement :)
Thank you to everyone who donated books to my classroom! :) The kids love them!

I'm really cute :)

Actually, now I'm grouchy.

Stop taking pictures of me! :)

It turned out that he was really tired :) I turned around and he had fallen asleep right in the middle of eating his pizza! :)

Raquel and I went to visit Heidi in Tucson :) We even were able to see some fireworks on the Fourth of July! :)

Amelia Bedelia comes to visit!

It's been a busy several months! God has been faithful as always. :) It was good to be home for my grandparents' baptisms in March. God always exceeds anything that I could have imagined. I bless God for what He has done in their lives and I can't wait to see what he has in store for them in the future! I also just want to say how much that I appreciate my church family in Tremont! Especially, my dish washing ladies. :) I love you all so much and I am so thankful for you! :)
I was blessed with the opportunity a few months ago to take care of Steph and Joel's children for two weeks. We had a great time together!  I would imagine that it was probably a little bit strange for them to have their teacher come and live with them for two weeks. I think it would have been a little strange for me as a child. Especially since all of my teachers lived at school :) :) Anyway, I now have a much deeper appreciation for single mothers that work full time!
PS: We now have a pet chicken named "Josefina" :) Pictures will follow soon! :)

My latest painting :)

Coffee filter butterflies :)

Ice cream activity :) They had to invent new flavors and then think of a good selling price.

My new stage for reader's theater! :)

Hair gel, Charades, and a bright yellow feather duster!

My latest "bulletin board." The kids had to write an object in the middle of the flower and then wrote describing words on the petals.
Joining in on a game of "verb charades." This is me eating a cheeseburger... :) SO fun! :)
The newest addition to our classroom...a feather duster! :)
Writing with hair gel and food coloring! :)
